I bought my Canon LIDE 90 scanner back in 2007, when I was doing attachment work in Japan. I bought it because I was doing a comic book project then, so I needed to scan my artworks. After since I have been using it till this year, where it started to show some wear and tear, like dirt within the interior. This is the year of the Monkey so drawing monkeys should be a common sight :D Here is the rough progress of my drawing. 1. I start out with rough sketches, usually smaller size, like 1024 x 768, to get the composition and key objects. After that I changed different colors for each key objects to see if they are balance. Just trying out random styles, possibility to use them on my new illustrations or comics.. Working with lesser elements is often much harder than adding in more, every shape and color have to symbolic and meaningful...
