Hello to all my friends, followers & whoever that might read my posts, thank you for staying around and the great support in 2025.
Last week I celebrated my 45th birthday and I felt like this year should be a year of breaking and rebuilding.
This is the current stage of my living room (lol). I ordered two new book shelves to replace the wooden ones but it's only this week that I managed to finish my work from last year.
Maybe this is a reflection of my current state of mind and life, cluttered and lack of direction. Looking back, I have been a freelance illustrator for more than 12 years. Over the years, I'm glad to have worked with many people & organizations, who taught me how to be a better artist and person.
Turning 45 seems like a good time to think about what's next for the next 5 or 10 years.
As mentioned earlier. This year is about breaking and rebuilding, I hope to spend more time on my personal projects and as a comic artist/illustrator myself.
5 Things to be grateful for in 2025
-Worked on a national IP (Becky bunny)
-Spent more time with family and loved ones
-Saved a decent amount of money and returns-Launched Honey, I Cloned the Kids 2 Kickstarter
-A home/office I have been staying for the past 9 years that’s paying for itself (And also winning "Best Young Person's Non-Fiction Title at the Singapore Book Awards 2025" for The Rainforest Adventures of Biogirl MJ
5 Things that weren’t great in 2025
-Working almost 7 days a week every week
-Neglecting health and fitness
-Not working much on person projects/original IP
-Too little games played (LOL)
-Still didn’t get to start my Youtube channel
Things to look into in 2026:
-Webcomic series
-Social media: more educational/sharing posts
-Fanart, fan comic
-Book pitches
-Getting back to workout routine
Such a long winded post, guess 2026 is off to a good start! XD
